About

In the time it took for you to reach me, I am sure you saw many profiles. And you’ve been contemplating whether starting therapy is the right thing for you. Taking the first step to reach out to a clinician is the most important part of your journey towards healing through self-discovery. So, first, I want to congratulate you for taking this step. You’ve absolutely done the right thing.

There are many reasons you might be reaching out. Here are some that I can think of: You’re feeling anxious and are not sure why your anxiety isn’t getting better. You’re feeling sad or angry, and others around you have also noticed it. You’ve been spending too much time alone, and activities you usually enjoyed don’t bring you joy anymore. You just went through a difficult event and are experiencing unwelcome thoughts and feelings as a result. You might be having difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep at night, and nothing has helped you overcome your insomnia. You could be experiencing a creative block that is keeping you from achieving your dreams. You’re feeling stuck at your work, which is hindering you from advancing in your career and reaching your full potential. You’re in a relationship that is no longer working but finding it difficult to break away, or you are interested in improving your love life, but not sure how to even begin. You might be having a hard time not knowing how to set a healthy boundary. You’re struggling with impulse control issues or sexual inhibition. Or, you want to attain a deeper understanding of your gender and sexuality. If any of these issues describe your experience, I am here to offer the help you need.

As a clinician, I prioritize and appreciate the complexity of your individual experience. I want to emphasize that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience. I offer a safe and warm environment where you and I can build a meaningful therapeutic relationship so we can explore the roots of your struggles, together. I offer non-judgmental, anti-racist and LGBTQAI+ affirming psychotherapy. I work with adult individuals, children, and teens. I also work with couples and families. I strive to help you attain a deeper understanding of your internal world, find the roots of your problems, and gain insight about your past and present, in order to help you overcome your struggles. Through the work, you will gain insights, and with them you can begin to make informed decisions that will offer better choices in your life. As a result, the quality of your life will begin to improve.

If you’re interested in seeing me for couples’ therapy or family work, I combine a psychodynamic approach with a systems therapy approach, which allows couples and families to understand what patterns of behaviors or “roles” they play within relationships. After understanding those roles, I can help you to disengage from unhealthy patterns and offer ways to build more meaningful and rewording relationships.

I look forward to hearing from you.

FAQ’s
How long is a session? Are you conducting in person sessions?

The length of psychotherapy session is either 45 minutes or 50 minutes. Please discuss this with your therapist, but both arrangements are acceptable.

We offer both—in-person, and virtual treatment. Please discuss your preference with your therapist.

How often should I see my therapist?

The frequency of work is determined between you and your therapist. However, we do believe a higher frequency has an important effect on the outcome of the treatment. Most of our therapists work with their patients at more than once-a-week frequency in psychotherapy. However, if you are in psychoanalytic treatment, the frequency is at least 4 times (sometimes we offer 3 times) a week.

How long does the therapy last?

Believe it or not, this is by far the most common question we are asked. There is a famous quote from Freud, “Our answer is like the answer given by the Philosopher to the Wayfarer in Aesop's fable. When the Wayfarer asked how long a journey lay ahead, the Philosopher merely answered ‘Walk!’” The duration of treatment depends on the individual circumstances. Therefore, he says, “[T]he question as to the probable duration of a treatment is almost unanswerable.” At TheraBridge we hold true to Freud’s word, “Walk!” We help our patients walk the path and over the bridge towards a future where new memories and new experiences bring happiness and joy.

Is my information confidential?

Yes, your information is kept confidential. In case we need to coordinate care with other medical professionals including your psychiatrist, we will obtain your consent, though the exchange of patient information amongst medical providers is considered HIPAA compliant.

What kind of therapy do you provide?

At TheraBridge, all our clinicians are trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy or psychoanalysis.
